Since they may affect the liver, thyroid, and the central nervous system, monitoring their presence in products is necessary. BS EN 17137 specifies a method of analysis for determining the content of chlorobenzenes and chlorotoluenes in textile products made from components such as fabric, interlining, lining, plastic buttons, plastic slide fasteners, labels and threads.
