What is BS EN 17192 about?
BS EN 17192 discusses ventilation for buildings. Ventilation not only affects physical health, it also impacts the mental health of the occupant. Sometimes effects of exposure to CO are subtle, and occupants do not realize what may be causing their symptoms. Due to this, it is important to test ventilation for buildings. BS EN 17192 specifies methods to test rigid or semi-rigid non-metallic ductwork under laboratory conditions. On-site tests are excluded. Note: BS EN 17192 does not include flexible ducts such as those made of textiles, non-metallic spiral ductwork, or others, which are handled in EN 13180 or ductwork made from insulation duct board, which is handled in EN 13403 . Requirements for the airtightness of the ventilation system for non-residential buildings are given in EN 167983 . For residential buildings, it is essential to apply national rules.
