BS EN IEC 60079-19 is a part of an international multi-series standard that discusses equipment safety in an explosive atmosphere. BS EN IEC 60079-19 includes the repair, overhaul, and reclamation of the electrical equipment in an explosive atmosphere. It gives instructions, principally of a technical nature, on the repair, overhaul, reclamation, and modification of Ex equipment designed for use in explosive atmospheres. BS EN IEC 60079-19 applies to overhaul and repair which mitigates deficiencies identified during operation, inspection, and maintenance. Note 1: BS EN IEC 60079-19 does not give advice on cable and wiring systems which can require a renewal when the equipment is re-installed. Note 2: BS EN IEC 60079-19 is not applicable to Type of Protection “m”.
