Filler metal is a metal added to the making of a joint through  welding ,  brazing , or  soldering . ISO 3677 specifies designation for filler materials for soldering and brazing on the basis of their chemical composition. For brazing materials only, the designation includes their solidus/liquidus temperatures. ISO 3677 deals with the metallic part of filler used in soldering and brazing products.
