Overview
EN ISO 14946:2021 (Small craft - Maximum load capacity) defines the items to be included when determining the maximum load of small recreational craft. The standard clarifies seating and occupancy-area requirements, what mass must be counted in maximum load calculations, and the information manufacturers must provide on the builder's plate and in the owner's manual. Personal watercraft are explicitly excluded from the scope.
This edition supersedes EN ISO 14946:2001 and aligns with related ISO standards such as ISO 12217 (stability, buoyancy and flotation) and ISO 8666 (principal data). It also supports conformity to Directive 2013/53/EU where applicable.
