Abstract

Overview

EN ISO 24342:2024 (ISO 24342:2024) specifies standardized test methods to determine the side length, edge straightness and squareness of square and rectangular resilient and textile floor-covering tiles and planks. The fourth edition updates procedures to distinguish between tiles and planks, refines measurement methods, and lowers the reported dial-gauge measurement uncertainty (from 0.02 mm to 0.01 mm). The standard is intended for use during manufacturing, quality control and conformity assessment to ensure modular floor elements fit and install without visual defects or misaligned seams.
