Overview
IEC 60317-1:2010 (amended 2024) specifies requirements for polyvinyl acetal enamelled round copper winding wire, class 105. It defines material identity, dimensional limits, electrical and mechanical performance, and test methods for enamelled round copper wires with a sole coating based on polyvinyl acetal resin (modifications allowed if the resin’s chemical identity is retained). The standard is part of the IEC 60317 series covering particular types of winding wires and has a consolidated edition (4.1) incorporating Amendment 1 (2024).
