Description (English):

IEC 60317-13:2010 specifies the requirements of enamelled round copper winding wire of class 200 with a dual coating. The underlying coating is based on polyester or polyesterimide resin, which may be modified providing it retains the chemical identity of the original resin and meets all specified wire requirements. The superimposed coating is based on polyamide-imide resin. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are: - new requirements for appearance; - reference to new resistance to refrigerants test in IEC 60851-4; - deletion of high temperature failure requirement; - new pin hole test requirements. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60317-0-1:2008.

Overview

IEC 60317-13:2010 (with Amendment 1, 2024) specifies requirements for enamelled round copper winding wire, class 200, with a dual coating: an underlying polyester or polyesterimide resin and a polyamide‑imide overcoat. The standard defines mechanical, thermal and chemical performance, appearance and test methods for these class 200 winding wires and is intended to be read in conjunction with IEC 60317-0-1 (general requirements) and test methods such as IEC 60851-4 (chemical properties).

New/updated requirements introduced in the latest amendment:

- Reference to the updated resistance to refrigerants test in IEC 60851-4
- Deletion of the previous high‑temperature failure requirement
- New pin‑hole test requirements
Tests not applicable for this wire type: solderability, heat/solvent bonding and dielectric dissipation factor (marked as inappropriate).
