Overview
IEC 61300-2-14:2021 is the IEC test procedure for assessing the ability of fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components to withstand exposure to high optical power during operation. This fourth edition (2021) updates the 2012 version, harmonizing with IEC 61300-1:2016 and IEC 61300-3-4:2012, adds abbreviated terms and a new clause for input optical power from both ends. The standard defines test set‑ups, apparatus, severity parameters and pass/fail judgment criteria for optical‑power endurance testing of connectors, WDM modules and passive fibre components.
