Overview
ISO 10426-5:2004 - "Petroleum and natural gas industries - Cements and materials for well cementing - Part 5" specifies laboratory methods to determine shrinkage and expansion of well cement formulations at atmospheric pressure. The standard defines test methods and apparatus to measure dimensional changes during cement hydration under ambient-pressure, controlled-temperature conditions. It is a base document: real downhole cement behaviour also depends on pressure and different boundary conditions not covered here.
