Overview
ISO 14610:2012 specifies a standardized test method for determining the flexural strength of porous fine ceramics (advanced/technical ceramics) in air at room temperature. The standard covers specimen geometry, preparation, test apparatus and procedure, data acquisition (force–displacement curve), calculation of four‑point flexural strength, and required test report information.

σf = 3P(L − l) / (2 b d^2)
where P = maximum load (N), L = outer span (mm), l = inner span (mm), b = width (mm), d = thickness (mm). Mean and standard deviation calculated per ISO 80000‑1 (rounded to three significant figures).
