Overview
ISO 17264:2009 - Intelligent transport systems - Automatic vehicle and equipment identification - Interfaces - specifies the application interface and common transaction requirements for interoperable Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) and Automatic Equipment Identification (AEI) systems. The standard defines how On-Board Equipment (OBE) and Fixed/Roadside Equipment (RSE) exchange identification data across a standardized air interface (wireless link) while following the OSI/open systems philosophy (ISO/IEC 7498‑1).
