ISO 22553-5:2019 specifies a laboratory method for the determination of sieve residue in electro-deposition coatings (e-coat). The test quantifies soiling material such as non-dispersed paint particles, clots or foreign matter (for example metal particles introduced with the object to be coated) that remain on a specified sieve after passing a known volume of e‑coat.
