The standard uses two light sources placed at the operator eye location (filament position centre point, FPCP) to determine visibility on a 12 m visibility test circle (VTC) and along a rectangular boundary (RB) located 1 m from the machine perimeter. It applies to machine families defined in ISO 6165 up to the maximum operating mass per ISO 6016; other or larger machines use the test procedures together with the risk‑assessment process in clause 10.4.
