ISO 5834-4:2025 - "Implants for surgery - Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene - Part 4: Oxidation index measurement method" specifies a validated infrared spectroscopy method to measure the relative extent of oxidation in ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) moulded forms used for surgical implants.
