Overview
ISO 9168:2009 - Dentistry - Hose connectors for air driven dental handpieces defines standardized hose connectors to achieve reliable interchangeability between dental unit hoses and air-driven dental handpieces. The standard specifies four connector types, their outlet functions (water, drive air, spray air, exhaust and, where applicable, light/electrical contacts), dimensional requirements, thread characteristics and reprocessing durability.
