Overview
EN ISO 15084:2018 (adoption of ISO 15084:2003) sets out requirements for strong points used for attaching anchor chains, cables and lines for anchoring, mooring and towing on small craft up to 24 m hull length. The standard covers design, strength assessment, installation and owner’s‑manual information for fittings such as bollards, cleats, samson posts, bow eyes, winches and capstans. It does not define anchor weights or chain/line lengths and does not set requirements for a strong point intended specifically to tow other vessels.
