Overview

EN ISO 2398:2024 - Rubber hoses, textile-reinforced, for compressed air - Specification (ISO 2398:2024) is a CEN-endorsed European adoption of the ISO standard defining requirements for textile-reinforced rubber hoses used with compressed air. It covers hoses up to a maximum working pressure of 2.5 MPa (25 bar) and operating temperatures from −40 °C to +70 °C depending on type and category. This edition supersedes EN ISO 2398:2016 and aligns with ISO/TC 45 and CEN/TC 218 work.

- Rubber compound requirements (lining and cover): minimum tensile strength 7.0 MPa, minimum elongation 250% (ISO 37).
- Ageing limits and liquid-resistance limits are specified (ageing: change in tensile ±25%, change in elongation ±50%; liquid resistance per ISO 1817 vary by class).
Testing, marking & documentation
- Normative type and routine tests defined (Annex A); testing frequency, test reports/certificates and marking requirements are included.
