The standard specifies how to prepare, condition and test full‑thickness specimens taken from conveyor belts, and how to report tensile strength (N/mm) and elongation (percentage). It applies to both longitudinal testing and, where requested by the purchaser, transverse tensile strength and elongation at break. It does not apply to light conveyor belts covered by ISO 21183‑1.
