ISO 11265:2025 specifies a routine instrumental method for determining the specific electrical conductivity (SEC) in an aqueous extract of environmental solid matrices - including soil, sludge, biowaste and waste. The measurement gives an indication of the content of water‑soluble electrolytes and applies to all types of air‑dried samples. This second edition updates temperature criteria during extraction and clarifies the distinction between solid and sludge‑like matrices.
