Overview
ISO 16290:2013 - "Space systems - Definition of the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and their criteria of assessment" defines a standardized scale of Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs 1–9) for assessing the maturity of technology elements intended for space missions. Primarily focused on space system hardware, the standard provides definitions, required conditions at each TRL, and a summary table to enable consistent and accurate TRL assessment.
