ISO 20163:2019 - "Vulcanized rubber - Determination of free sulfur by gas chromatography (GC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)" specifies chromatographic methods to quantify the inorganic free sulfur (Sx) remaining after rubber vulcanization. - Calibration and quantification
- Standard addition is the preferred calibration method to correct matrix effects and unknown sample matrices.
- External calibration can be used when matrix effects are absent.
- Calibration ranges and injected volumes are described and should be adapted to required quantification limits.
- Quality and reporting
- Requirements include duplicated testing, precision assessment, and content for the test report (see Clauses 10–12 and informative annexes with chromatogram examples and precision data).
