Overview

ISO 22282-6:2012 - "Geotechnical investigation and testing - Geohydraulic testing - Part 6: Water permeability tests in a borehole using closed systems" defines procedures and requirements for measuring local water permeability in soils and rocks using closed-system borehole pulse tests. The standard is intended for geotechnical investigation services referenced in EN 1997-1 and EN 1997-2 and targets very low-permeability materials (order of 10‑8 m/s and lower). Tests determine the permeability coefficient (k) and may also provide transmissivity (T) and storage coefficient (S).
