Overview
ISO/IEC 14496-26:2024 - Audio conformance defines how to design and run conformance tests to verify that compressed audio bitstreams and decoders meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 14496-3 (MPEG‑4 audio). The second edition updates and consolidates prior amendments and corrigenda and provides guidance, test structure and example test bitstreams (often accompanied by reference waveforms) for validating decoder behavior and compressed-data characteristics. Note: encoders are not the primary subject, but the tests can be used to check encoder output against the bitstream requirements in ISO/IEC 14496-3.
