Overview - EN ISO 1141:2021 (ISO 1141:2021) - Polyester fibre ropes

EN ISO 1141:2021 specifies requirements and designation rules for polyester fibre ropes in common constructions: 3‑strand hawser‑laid, 4‑strand shroud‑laid, 8‑strand braided and 12‑strand braided ropes for general service. The standard defines construction types (A, B, L, T), linear density (ktex), minimum breaking strength (MBS) values and marking rules. It replaces EN ISO 1141:2012 and clarifies that not all performance variations are covered - the rope manufacturer should be consulted to ensure suitability for a specific application.
